Cambridge Racing Shells - Advantage by Design.
CRS shells are newly designed with state of the art3D integrated naval computer aided design software.
The hull shapes by Gunther Borutta have been designed to reduce drag lower than any other rowing boats on the market.
All designs have the smallest wetted surface area of any rowing boats currently on the market, for minimum drag, combined with excellent stability to be rowed from novice to world-class crew.
CRS D82 Eight is the first and only rowing eight in the world to have a wetted surface area WSA of less than 9 square meters, at a design displacement off 850kg, suited for HWT men.
Furthermore, not only do all shells made by CRS easily surpass FISA's floatation requirements, they are as buoyant as it is practically possible for a rowing boat to be, which is vital for safety, and gives an advantage in rough racing too, with water being rapidly transferred towards the stern, and then easily ejected via the low stern bulkhead on all coxless boats.
In terms of production methods, CRS is taking boat-building forwards, towards what is now possible with composite technology, both in terms of the methods and materials used. The result is excellent stiffness, allowing an almost complete transfer of power into speed.
Why not taking the advantage by design and see how fast you can really go!
